Switch Snake
Introducing my first game! *sound trumpets*
I created this for a school IT project, but I enjoyed the result so much I decided it counts. This is the first in a hopefully long line of little projects with interesting core mechanics or a deeper storyline.
THE GAME
It plays just like the old Snake games, eat food, grow longer, don't crash. Only there is a twist: every time you eat, your snake will reverse directions. It doesn't sound like much but it changes EVERYTHING. See for yourself.
Also there is a host of cool features such as:
- A 2-player mode where the second player controls the food (for pure rage-inducing goodness)
- A colour theme selector
- A high score system
- A game speed slider (ever play Snake at warp speed?)
The game is free! Get it here.

Just extract the .rar file and run the .jar file!
This was made with a high-school level of java knowledge. As I learn other languages, libraries, engines and better techniques, the quality will improve.
Please leave feedback in the comments. I am learning as I go along so critique is highly appreciated. Much obliged.
